Report: HOSTA 2023 – The Benelux Hotel Statistics

The HOSTA report aims to provide relevant information for hoteliers as well as investors, bankers, project developers, municipal authorities, industry organisations and anybody with an interest in the middle and upper segments of the Benelux Hotel industry. The 46th edition of the annual report contains the results of the Benelux hotel industry in 2022 and was published in November 2023. 

The hotel results show a strong improvement in 2022, following the historic downturn in 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 crisis. In the Netherlands, the third and final lockdown ended in January 2022. In March 2022, all social distancing measures were ended and in September 2022, the European entry ban was ended. As the COVID-19 has entered the endemic phase in the Netherlands, it is no longer expected to lead to large societal or economic issues. Therefore, the hotel market is expected to continue its recovery in 2023 and 2024.

The HOSTA 2023 report is based on the information provided by over 450 participating hotels. The composition of participants is not meant to be a representation of the entire market. Our goal is to draw conclusions based on the relevant trends in the industry we examine over the years from a composition of participants which maintain a relatively consistent product over time.
